The Market Fish
In the Summer of 2026, children from eleven schools across Northwich came together to create amazing fish to be featured in Northwich Market.
There are fifty fish mobiles inspired by the nearby River Weaver hanging over the seating area. The schools involved were:
Little Leigh, Whitegate CofE Primary, Witton Church Walk CofE, Hartford Manor, St Bede’s Catholic Primary School, Byley Nursery & primary School, Antrobus St Mark’s Primary, Weaverham Academy, Weaverham Forest Primary School, Charles Darwin Primary and Winnington Park Primary.
Plus look out for Colin the Community Crayfish, made by visitors to Barons Quay over the Summer.
The whole project was made using recycled materials and shows the creativity of the community brought together in the new market.
